In 1881 Daniel Green, a young traveling shoe salesman for the Wallace Elliott Company in New York City, visited Dolgeville, New York. Daniel was shown a pair of felt shoes fashioned from waste pieces of piano felt which had been made in the Dolgeville Felt Mill. Daniel Green noticed that these felt shoes were worn by many factory workers to keep their feet warm and comfortable on the cold factory stone floors, and thus a legend in footwear was born.

The value isn't there
I generally love Daniel Green slippers, but when I ordered these they just didn't have the substantial or luxury feel I wanted for the price tag. I was hoping for either a supportive slipper--given the look, or a super comfy slipper--but really got neither. The sole was thin, interior didn't have enough fluff for my taste, and finally they were small. I ordered my usual size 8, sometimes I take a 7.5, and my toes were right at the tip of the slipper. So I sent them back, so sad--I was hoping they would be my new go to slippers. Wound up getting some Woolrich instead and am very happy with them.

Good alternative to spendy Ugg slippers
When I first ordered these I was looking for a comfy slipper shoe I could wear out of the house in cold mornings. They are really cute on. First out of the box, they were really narrow and pinched across the top stitch. I almost returned them for a larger size because they were not comfortable. I ended up keeping them because they didn't have a larger size in the color I wanted. Now, after wearing them for a few days, they seem to be loosening up a bit...I'm hopeful these will become very comfy soon! If you have wide feet..I would get a size larger than normal.

the most comfortable slipper I have found for narrow feet
I had to put additional elastic strap in the mid-shoe area because the toe was too short to keep my narrow foot inside the shoe. I kept walking out of them. However, that is a common problem with very narrow heels, and I have found ways to work around it. Other than that, the most comfortable slipper I have found for narrow feet.

runs about a half size small
I wear a 7.5 U.S. womens, so I ordered an 8 based on previous reviews stating that it runs small. The 8 fits perfectly, even with my summer pedicure. A half size smaller would definitely be too snug. They are soft and cozy to wear. I imagine that once winter hits, they will scarcely leave my feet.

Slippers that fit!
I have a super hard time finding slippers for my wide feet with high insteps. I have mostly had good luck with this brand but the ones I have are more of a boot type. I wanted something that would be not quite as wintery for the warmer weather. They fit great and are super comfortable so I ordered a 2nd pair in another color. Love them!

Weird fit...
I loved my old Daniel Green slippers which were felted, they lasted almost 8 years (the felt is now getting a hole in it :( ) These Salena Flats were a great price, but the fit is awful. Length is perfect, but when I try to walk in them, they feel like they are going to fly off my feet. Wide through the instep, and hardly any support. I will be returning these.

Expensive and poor quality
These slippers run small so order one size larger than you typically would wear. Also, I was not impressed by the quality...the outer material is okay, but the inside lining is thin and my wife said the slippers don't keep her feet warm. I plan to return them.

Very comfirtable slipoers. Perfect for a Southern winter!
I love these slippers. I usually wear an 8.5 M US. These size 9 M fit perfectly. As a knitter, I love the knitted fabric with which these are made. These are very comfortable and warm enough on more mild nights. For very cold nights, they're not quite warm enough for me.
