Silica packets work well, but the REACTIVATED ones don't last anywhere as long as the BRAND NEW ones
I would have assigned 5 stars if the REACTIVATED silica packets had lasted as long as the BRAND NEW ones. Unfortunately, they do NOT, so it means that, PRAGMATICALLY, I can use each packet only once, especially since the REACTIVATED silica packets would have to be REACTIVATED again and again after comparatively short times of use. Moreover, there seems to be a HUGE difference in the PERFORMANCE of randomly selected silica packets.I tested 4 (of 14) randomly selected BRAND NEW silica packets.I used the following test protocol:A. Test packets 1 and 3 were placed inside 2 IDENTICAL sealed containers [(i) and (ii)] within which the Relative Humidity (RH) was maintained at 100%RH at ambient temperatures between 60-65F.B. Periodically, over many days, I examined the color (BLUE <=> PURPLE <=> PINK) of the silica beads in each packet.C. As soon as Test packets 1 and 3 had turned from the original 100% BLUE (BRAND NEW) to 100% PINK (SATURATED), I REACTIVATED each packet (1 or 3) INDIVIDUALLY in a 1200 watt microwave oven (MW) for the number of minutes (MINS) and at the Power Level % (PL%) listed in the data below UNTIL the beads had turned from 100% PINK back to 100% BLUE.D. I then repeated A. and B. above with the REACTIVATED beads.E. Test packets 2 and 4 (which served as CONTROL), also at ambient temperatures between 60-65F, were placed in the open, ambient air adjacent to the 2 IDENTICAL sealed containers [(i) and (ii)] mentioned in A. above. The ambient Relative Humidity (RH) in the test room was approximately 35-50%RH at temperatures between 60-65F.Please note that the test data in the table below show that Packet#1 lasted 13 days (DAY13-DAY0) when BRAND NEW, BUT ONLY 3 days (DAY16-DAY13) and 5 days (DAY24-DAY19) after Packet#1 had been REACTIVATED, which means that the REACTIVATED silica packets don't last anywhere as long as the BRAND NEW ones. Please note that the test data below also show that Packet#3 lasted 83 days (DAY83-DAY0) when BRAND NEW, BUT ONLY 21 days (DAY104-DAY83) after Packet#3 had been REACTIVATED, which again shows that the REACTIVATED silica packets don't last anywhere as long as the BRAND NEW ones. Most importantly, please note the HUGE difference in the PERFORMANCE between Packet#1 (lasted 13 days when BRAND NEW) and Packet#3 (lasted 83 days when BRAND NEW), which makes it extremely difficult to estimate how often one should replace a packet in a sealed chest.__________________________MWDAY__PACKET#_COLOR__PL% MINS__NOTES0_____1,2,3,4____BLUE_____-____-____BRAND NEW13____1________PINK______-____-____SATURATED13____1________BLUE_____20__18____REACTIVATED13____2________BLUE_____-____- ____CONTROL16____1________PINK______-____-____SATURATED16____2________BLUE______-___-_____CONTROL19____1________PINK______- ___-_____SATURATED19____1________BLUE_____30__17____REACTIVATED19____2________PURPLE___- ___-_____CONTROL24____1________PINK______-____- ____SATURATED24____2________PURPLE___-____-_____CONTROL===============================================83____3________PINK______-____-____SATURATED83____3________BLUE_____30___8____REACTIVATED83____4________BLUE _____-____-____CONTROL104___3________PINK______-____-____SATURATED104___4______50% BLUE___- ____-____CONTROL

Seems to work
Put two packs at the bottom of a fire safe holding documents. After a month, both packets turned from blue to purple, not quite pink as shown in the pictures, so pack was probably not 50% saturated. Then put both packs into a toaster over set to 200F in a baking tray lined with parchment paper. After two hours, both packs returned to blue, so they do appear to be re-usable.One minor compliant - The plastic bag felt stiffer and was less clear after the first renewal cycle to turn from purple to blue. So I have some concerns about longevity of overall packaging, i.e. number of cycles the package can sustain.

Works great
Recharge following directions on package. I use 2 packages for a 50 cal ammo box and swap them out every 3-6 months...I keep an airtight container of fully charged (Blue) and a container of discharged (pinkish purple) that need to be recharged. Once I have 30 or so in the discharged container I follow the directions and recharge them in the oven. One thing I have noticed. When you pull them out of the oven look for condensation or "fog" on the package. If you see any they need to "cook" for at least another half hour or until there is no more "fog" present...

Perfect for a camera
These work great! After being out in the summer humidity with my camera I always put it in a ziplock type bag and let it sit for a few hours. These suck up all the moisture and you can actually see how well they work by the color change.I do put mine in the oven to reuse them but there's only a certain amount of times that will work before I need to buy new ones.Humidity will kill your camera and lenses but if you use these, you won't have any problems

Amazing product and company
So I had gotten these for my car originally. Ever since a replacement windshield was put on there has been tons of moisture on the inside window. Waiting for my window to dry out and stop dripping made it way to time consuming. So I originally was usually the little white silica beads found in shoe boxes and whatever else. It worked but they quickly got full. I decided to order these because I liked how they were reusable. I have had them in my car about a month and just had to recharge them in the microwave. I could tell instantly when they stopped working due to my car window. Also because they worked so well I actually puts tons in the bathroom to help soak up the moisture from showers due to a faulty fan. So far so good.

Not easy to reactivate
These worked great first time out of the package, but trying to dry them back out and reactivate -nearly impossible. You have two ways to dry these out, put in microwave, or conventional oven. Both ways of doing it (instructions on the package), resulted in a bag full of steam, that only re-absorbs back into the silica gel turning it pink right away. The plastic bags this is packed in does not have enough or big enough perforations to let the steam/moisture out during a recharge. That’s why the low rating.
