Great if you need 2-3 optical inputs and you can live with PCM stereo
I have a Samsung OLED (90C) that does actually have an analog audio output (3.5mm) but it is very noisy, producing lots of squelching from EM interference. This tv also has optical audio output and can even use USB DACs. I had settled on using a Schiit DAC to send audio from the TV to my soundbar, but periodically the tv wouldn't detect the DAC and would then switch back to internal speakers, which was frustrating. Other times, it would send a horrifying, loud screech to the DAC which was then passed to the soundbar. I couldn't use the optical output for my soundbar because that was going to my Sennheiser wireless tv headphones (TR185, which are awesome). However, optical still seemed to be the best output option on this tv in terms of reliability and signal quality. I guess there's also eARC, which in my experience is endlessly flaky, and I needed all my HDMI ports for other things. All of that is to say, this little box solved my issues. I power it from the usb port on the TV, and it splits the tv's optical output to the Sennhesier headphones and my soundbar. I can use both simultaneously if I want, sound quality is great, and everything stays in sync. Of course, this box won't help anyone wanting HDMI audio for Atmos or other cutting edge surround formats, but I'm limited to stereo through the headphones or soundbar, which I use for space-saving reasons, so in my case it's perfect. I tuck it back behind a shelf and its out of sight, out of mind. My only gripe is that it has no visible indicator that it's working; no LED or anything. But if you are getting sound, that means it's working. We'll see if it is made to last!

Great splitter for the price
Very nice optical splitter for the price. Easy to set up and works like it should. Just wish the power cord was a bit longer and included an A/C adapter.

Simple fix and Headones, Soundbar Work Perfectly with new TV
Got a new Sony TV and like other new TVs, lacks audio out ports. I bought this to be able to use older models Sennheiser headphones and Vizio sound bar simultaneously and independent from each other and the TV speakers. After reading a review from another buyer who was seeking the same result, I chose this splitter and am very satisfied with the results. I connected the splitter to the TV with the provided optical cable, plugged the provided power cord into one of the TV USB ports, connected the sound bar to the splitter via optical cable, connected the head phones first to an optical to analog converter (also purchased on Amazon), and then connected the optical end to this splitter. Works great with my new Sony and didn't have to upgrade to a sound bar with ARC. There is no lag with the audio and visual, every thing is in sync and perfect. Oh yes, initially I purchased an HDMI ARC adapter (to connect non ARC to ARC) in hopes of being able to connect my sound bar that way, but that did not work so I returned and got this instead. If you don't mind using a separate control for the sound bar, its a very good solution.

Quality of product is exceptional
This NEWCARE optical three-way splitter works great. It was easy to hook up and has worked flawlessly. I'm able to connect my headphones and my karaoke machine with great ease. Impressive sound quality.

Great for people with headsets that use toslink optical
Migrated from PS4 to PS5 and using Astro MixAmp & headset. Astro stuff is working fine so no real reason to replace (also, I preferred wired since nothing to charge) but, no optical port on PS5!?The best thing about the mixamp is the ability to easily and quickly lower game volume and increase player party chat volume or vice versa but with no optical input available that feature is gone and Sony still doesn’t support multiple USB audio devices simultaneously so you’re just stuck.Unless you get a device like this IF you have an optical out from your TV or amp. My TV has an optical out that I use with my amp and with this ‘splitter’ or replicator I can take the output of the TV and run it to the headset and the amp/soundbar at the same time. I don’t have a third device but I guess if I got into streaming I could use it…Highly recommended for anyone in same situation (PS4 to PS5 with headset using optical). If you change console and TV at the same time and then have no optical output, you’ll need an HDMI to optical splitter (which is not this).
