DOES NOT WORK WITH ARE TOPPERS
I bought this to replace the lock in my ARE topper, however it does not fit. It still gets 5 stars as it works as promised, just not made for my topper. This same company makes the lock cylinders for ARE toppers, but you have to go through an ARE dealer to get them as they are proprietary. Once I got the proper locks, they work great and key very easily.

Doesn’t fit in A.R.E caps
The item said they fit A.R.E caps and they do fit in the hole, however they won’t turn the level because the factory locks have a tab at 45 degrees and these are 90 degrees. Don’t waste your time if you need them for an A.R.E cap. They are super easy to key but now I’m stuck with them as they have been keyed.

Not for doors or tailgate like others are comparing to
These Bolt cylinders are for Bolt products and possibly other things like truck toppers, truck toolboxes (if you buy the Bolt handle lock assembly) or to replace the Bolt cylinders in something you kept when you sold your old truck so you can now match the key of your new truck.I had several Bolt products with my previous F250, so let some of those go when I sold the truck since you can not re-key these locks. Once they are keyed to the first lock, that's it! They can't be rekeyed again. But if you have let's say a truck toolbox and you want to keep it, you simply swap out the lock cylinders to a compatible cylinders for your next truck and key the cylinders to the new key truck and you're back in business. Which is what I have done. For reviews showing how they don't match their current Door, ignition, etc locks. Those are from folks who didn't read about what this product is and what it can do and is for. Disregard those reviews. This is a great product, I've used this product line on Jeeps, Ford F-250 truck, my boat trailer, trailer, and now Ram 2500 - using several of their product line! And have not had a single failure of any of their product solutions. When I've shown friends and neighbors that I only carry one key (not one in FOB - I had regular key made without chip for ease of use) they look at me like they just saw a miracle!

Bolt 7025636 Replacement Toolbox Lock Cylinder with Ford Side Cut Keys.
I replaced 6 Bolt lock cylinders in my Royal utility bed tool box doors. 4 have already been replaced lasting anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months. The Bolt lock cylinders that came with the new utility bed lasted 4-1/2 years. Not sure why these (same as OEM) lock cylinders don't last long at all.Update: I have since found that the problems with these lock cylinders is due to a worn out key. If your key is worn out these lock cylinders will no last long. Have a new key made, order as many new lock cylinders as needed and do the auto coding on them with the new key. They should now last as long as the original new ones before the key wore out. I will update again if they still have a short life but they are working like they should at this point with no issues.

Worked Great for ARE Topper
This worked perfectly to rekey my ARE commercial topper to use my Toyota key. The two keys were too similar in size and shape, that i often found myself trying to insert the wrong key in the ignition or lock. This cylinder was a little longer than the original because the Toyota key is longer than the ARE key, so I made a collar to bring the cylinder forward to compensate for the extra length. This aligned the locking mechanism, and everything works perfectly. I wish there had been more threads for the retaining nut like the original cylinder had, but everything seems secure. Installation was easy and the rekeying process was very simple.

Fits ARE topper
Alot of reviews say it doesnt fit ARE contractor topper so I only ordered on and installed it today and fits perfect. Be sure you order to fit your door key for your truck. This one fits dodge Ram key and you just turn your key once and works. I ordered 2 for the side door as I now know it fits.I also notice people keep saying it wont fit there door. It is not a lock for the vehicle at all. Its for toppers and tool boxes so you can make the lock the same key at your truck.

Buyer beware - this will not work in a door
I thought this was the perfect fix after a thief destroyed the door lock on my Mazda B2300/Ford Ranger.Sadly, the lock body is not compatible with the retaining clip in my door. I ordered the Bolt washer, but that made the assembly too big to fit.

Fits all leer contractors truck caps
Buy them. They are excellent and direct replacement for leer truck caps contractor style. Save yourself the inflated 300$ they ask for “leer” replacements. Leer and Bolt came together years ago but leer is gouging their customers on the deal.

Buyer beware
This does not fit a 2010 dodge ram 2500. The lock is way to big.
