I purchased this Semai Grow light about 3 weeks ago and didn't want to write a review until I had a real chance to check it out. I had been given a similar one about 8 months ago. It was one with 3 bendable arms which I like because I can cover a larger area. However the other one was not well made. The timer didnt work at all and I had to change the light settings daily. The clamp was also very cheaply made. Over all the whole thing was cheaply made. I was at another friends house and saw that he had the Semai grow light and I could see that the quality of the product was much better. We discussed the product and he showed me how the timer could be set for 3, 9, or 12 hours. How the light intensity and light setting worked. The Semai grow light as you can see also has FOUR bendable arms, an easy to use and well functioning controller, and a very well made and heavy duty clamp. I have a sun-room that just doesn't get quiet enough light during winter so I need some light that will cover a large area. These are bendable enough that I can mount in a central location on my shelves and cover four different shelves. I grow mostly succulents and cactus and a few other house plants. I bought five of these to cover my entire sunroom. I can see that all of my plants are much more happy than last year and several are even blooming, big difference. The only problem I have seen is that the timer on one of the units needs to be reset about every two weeks. It seems to lose a few minutes every day and comes on and shuts off a little later every day. If I could change a couple of things I would make the plug cords about a foot longer and, make the arms a bit longer also to cover a bigger area. I would love to see them offer this same design with a full spectrum white light. The indoor gardening tools were a very nice bonus too. Over all its a very good product that I am happy with.

After using it a few days I realized that if left plugged in it will start its timer the same time the next day for the time you selected. So we picked 12hrs at 5am Monday and at 5pm it went off. Then on Tuesday at 5am it turned back on till 5pm then turned off. So this is something that is worth the price. The USB does get very hot but if you use a surge protector it will trip if it does go bad which we have not seen.It is very bright it only has 9 Stages of light. But the biggest issue is we wanted to use a timer to turn it on a certain time of day but you can't. You have to hit the Power Button everytime. So this is a bummer. It does come with some cool small tools.

The one thing I would want to have realized before buying is that you *need* to have a strong, stable , desk lip, shelf, or other thin surface for these lights to clamp onto. In all the product images the clamp is just sitting on a surface and all the lights are standing up. That’s impossible. But because of this I didn’t think of my set-up in any way, and when I unpacked the lights, I had nothing to attach them to. My desk has a lip that sticks out maybe an inch but it’s rounded so the clamp kept slipping off. Eventually I had to re-arrange my room so that I could have my plants near a giant shelf. Otherwise the lights aren’t bad. About the timer though, you have to be awake at the time you want it to start, which meant waking up at six just to set the timer. That was annoying lol

They grow lights were easy to set up, the 4 goosenecks are not only very flexible but they hold their shape really well. I have been using them for 10 days for 12 hrs a day, my vegetable plants are really doing better! The timer is easy to set, the brightness is adjustable, all in all, a very good product. I will be making another purchase.

I've had this light for a little over a year now. Unfortunately since month 4-5 of having it I noticed the light wouldn't work all the time. I then realized the USB piece was starting to bend, so if it wasn't in a perfect position it wouldn't work. About a month ago it fully broke. Quality of the product is cheap, I wouldn't recommend this to others. Definitely worth spending a little more for a product to ensure quality. Something like this definitely should last longer than a year and a half.

I recently purchased the lights to reanimate my plants, which had suffered from low indoor light and got partially yellow. It was like a miracle when my Rosemary's leaves got thick and bright green and started to grow again when my almost dead small lime tree got back to life and new small leaves appeared on the plant's stems. Well, it is just an amazing tool to help your indoor plants to stay alive and healthy when the natural light is insufficient. I would also tell the excellent quality and clear simple instructions for the multiple functions the lights offer to the user.

Lights function well. Timer is convenient for roughly repeating cycles. The cord and plug seem too light for the product and get warm during use. Swapping out the USB hub for a higher rated one I happened to have to see if that helps.

So surprised to see a quick change for the better for my African violets. 20-30 years ago I was in a grocery store and these guys were in teeny tiny pots, freezing from the store a.c. and dry as dust. Marked 'clearance' in a cart. I felt for the violets. They had lost all luster, they were headed for the garbage heap. I took them home and promised to take care of them. They have stayed with me through the years, countless moves, pots and changes of climates. Lately they have been using 2 grow lights in a ceiling light to make it through. Alas, one of the lights died, and the violets were feeling the loss. I am so excited that this light is giving them what they needed. Their leaves are already turning that hearty, lusty look.The brightness must be what the doctor ordered as they have responded immediately. Do not know about the timer function or ease of use yet.
