U.S. Marine Corps Scout/Sniper Training Manual Paperback – March 1, 1989

Excellent Manual and very informative.

I am getting a Vietnam USMC M40 rifle built. This is NOT the manual for Vietnam.When you input, FMFM1-3B, all kinds of manuals come up. They are probably not it.Be sure to contact the seller and ask.The original manual or even the reprint or the administration manual will ALWAYS be a small book/manual . The field manual opens from the bottom to the top and is brown(ish) in color. The adminstration manual will be of the same size and open like a normal book and not from bottom to top but left to right. The color of the admin manual is usually yellow (ish). Again, it will be the same size as the files manual perhaps thinner than the field manaul. The title will ALWAYS be Sniping and not sniper.Book measures 4" x 5 3/4".Good luck in your search if you are looking for the "first" manual with the wooden stock M40. Note: The three manuals are all field manuals that coinside with the other. Basic Marksmanship around bootcamp or SOI, Marine Rifle Squad, sniper school. Again, good luck and DO NOT BUY WITH OUT A PICTURE. There are alot of sellers that think....Recruit don't know, Sir.

While much of the information is very outdated theres still decent information in the book that can be learned from. But thats definitely expected when it comes to declassified information from old military Technical Manuals and Field Manuals. Would I purchase this book again? Definitely because I collect these old Technical Manuals and Field Manuals since I am a Military History buff. But I definitely think that whoever the publisher is could have used a better copy machine to copy the old manual since they went as far as having hard and soft cover versions. Thats the main issue that I have and others have with this manual.

Being somewhat of a military history buff, was very glad to see bunches of actual training manuals finally released to the public.With the current state of violence all across our once great country...citizens have the right to information that they can use to defend themselves, they're family,& property.

Great sniper manual.

THIS "KNOWLEDGE" BOOK WAS MUCH LARGER THAN I THOUGHT.Not sure it's the original USMC GVT issue but from the looks of the pages with the GVT markings inside the pages it seems authentic. I FORGOT HOW DUMMY PROOF MILITARY READING MATERIAL WAS...lol If you think it's going to be hard to understand and that you need a "officers" level of intelligence to understand.....trust me they make understanding this stuff as simple as it comes.

This book is not the training manual, it is the instructor outlines. The description needs to change to reflect that.

While somewhat dated (based on the .308 as the sniper weapon), I still learned a lot.

Exacrly what it says on the cover. Lots of practical information on military rifle shooting.

Manque les nombreux PowerPoints qui sont sensés être présenté pendant ce cour... De nombreuses fois dans le livres ont fait référence à tel ou tel acétate qu'on a pas juger important de joindre dans ce livre. Acheté le US NAVY SEAL SNIPER COURSE à la place.
