CAT5e Waterproof Cable Gland

not sure why I bought this. Its sitting in my drawer. I guess I thought it had female RJ-45 connections inside it but that didn't turn out to be the case.

Nice thing about this design is that you can get the bulkhead seal in place and separately maintain the pressure on the sheath of the cable to remove strain and ensure it's tight.Note, this isn't a wet mate and takes a minute to do each connection properly.

Works as intended and fits UTP gel filled cat 6 direct bury line very well (mine is spec'd at 6.80mm+-0.30mmOD). The only minor drawback is that it is not compatible with pre-connected cables that already have the RJ45 on them so you have to put the connector on first then terminate your cable which could add an additional step on a ladder, etc. The rubber gasket on mine was not split as another reviewer commented. Not a big deal but there are other connectors available that allow you to use it with the RJ45 already on the cable if that's what you need.

Wish it had a cap to protect the end plug if its disconnected and not in use. Otherwise it's what I wanted. The rubber seal is split so it goes on easy.

Works great for my IP cameras. The red rubber gasket did not appear to be split at first but with a little pulling it opened right up allowing a pre-terminated cable to work. So far the connector has remained dry through a few rain storms.
