Although this product does not require a doctors prescription it was recommended by a wound care specialist MD. I broke my spine and was in the hospital and rehab for many months and developed bed sores that became difficult to heal, especially the several open soars on my butt. My PCP (primary care physician) referred me to the wound care specialist. He recommended this product 3 time per day and cover with a pad. After 2 weeks I returned to the Doc and the sores were almost healed. He recommended 2 more weeks. After the additional 2 weeks the sores were healed. I then changed to a different dressing and the skin was all cleared. The new dressing was purchased at Amazon.

Good for treating bed sores and other skin conditions which need a protective moisture barrier film. This paste is very thick and a very little bit (pea sized) goes a long way. It should be spread onto the skin in a very thin film rather than a thick clump. If too much is applied, it just rubs right off. I learned this from a nurse who showed me how to to apply it to my wife's bedsores by sort of gently slapping it on in swipes side to side instead of simply rubbing it on. It is a great healing agent for burns, poison ivy and other skin problems. I'd strongly recommend having a tube or two in your medicine box.

About a year after I started using bladder pads I noticed vaginal itching. It was bad. I changed brands repeatedly and the itching stopped for awhile but always came back. Regardless of what the manufacturers said, all of the pads cause itching.i was desperate until i read an article about using the zinc oxide cream. Now when the itching starts i put a thin layer on., using it until the itching stops. I don't notice any scent.

Like the Medline brand. This particular cream I put on a rash and cleared it up with just one treatment. Will buy again and have boughten other Medline products in past. Thank you.

I've been in such an agony of itching from bladder inconvenience that I didn't read the application instructions, just applied it. Oh, my word! INSTANT relief! I withheld a star, simply because I haven't enough experience of the product for that fifth star, but I have very high hopes.
