One star because it is so bright it almost like glow in the dark... you can see it from far. Shield your feet on cold days? NO, I do not think so! Make you more aerodynamics, probably NOT unless you can ride a very high speed or maybe 0.001% more aero. Protect your shoes from getting dirty? YES for sure just like any shoe cover in the market.I ordered L/XL and I have 10.5 shoe, it is not an easy fit. Not recommended on cold weather, maybe good during summer. I might just return this.

These booties are my third pair made by Defeet. They always work for days when it's just a little cool (below 58-42 F), below that temperature, coupled with a wind, you may want to consider a boot cover with a thicker barrier. The good thing about these booties, is that you can adjust your shoe buckles over the material that defeet uses. I also chose the Hi-Vis Neon, for safety.

cheap and they work, also the yellow ones are good specifically for winter cycling. For the price of a few starbucks drinks they are well worth it, good for temps in upper 40s to upper 50s. Defeet makes great dura gloves too, same temp. range.

The perfect shoecover. Can be worn in a variety of different temperatures. You have to decide on the color for yourself--this yellow is amazing.

I got these during the last few cold days of recent spring, and they have performed exactly as other people I know who own them describe. I wear a 37 shoe, but the S/M was okay for fit, especially since I wear mtb shoes. I expect the soles will wear a little faster than with road shoes, but for the price this isn't really going to be a problem. Love the hi-vis yellow, plus the reflective chevrons on the back. I was VERY visible.

Perfect for cooler weather to keep shoes/feet warmer without thick booties or trying to fit 2 pairs of socks in you shoes. I chose this color for visibility.
