Buy two sizes smaller if you want results
This review is not to discourage anyone from buying, just purely informational!!! I followed all the instructions to the T when it came to ordering the right size. Measuring tape and everything, but it's too big. I read in another review it fits like a girdle, and that it does, can't lose inches with a girdle! I just got it and I put it on the third notch easily...It should have taken a few weeks to even get into to the second one. I should have listened to my first instinct and gotten a size smaller. Other then being excited for it to come, and then it getting here and not being able to use it, I can tell it's good quality which is a plus. Also I love how long it is. It's extremely hard to find a waist trainer that covers my entire stomach. So that being said I'm ordering another one in a size or two smaller and sending this one back ASAP! If you want to lose inches it needs to be tighter period. My measurements are 36 under bust, 36 waist, and 38 belly. I'm around 5'4 or 5'5 and weigh 214 pounds. I hope that helps someone. I'll update review when I get the smaller size.**Update** I sent back my 3x and got the 2x... First row of hooks are still pretty loose, and fits like a girdle. Of course I still have the last two but I prefer to start at one because it's more rewarding that way. Definitely take your measurements, and then order two sizes smaller if you want to use this garment as a waist trainer to curve your waist.

It actually works + size reference
I have purchased two of these trainers in the past 3 weeks. I began with a size M and am now down to a size S. First things first, size reference: I weigh 128 lbs and am 5'3". When I ordered medium, my waist measured 33 inches. This is a little bigger than what you should be for a medium as per the chart but I went with it and initially it was very difficult to get on but within days it got easier. Two weeks later I was able to wear it in the third row of hooks (tightest it can go). I measured my waist and it was 31 at that point. A few days after I began wearing it on the third row it stopped feeling very tight, so I decided to order a small. Until I ordered the small and saw that it fits perfectly, I thought there was a defect in the quality of the trainer which caused it to stretch out over those two weeks. I was in disbelief that I had actually lose 2 inches off my waist (more like 3 now that I'm comfortably wearing size small), but on measuring and seeing that the new trainer fits, i am convinced that this product really does what it is meant to! I am a little bummed out that the first trainer didn't last me very long until I had to buy a new one, but if it means that I actually lost inches from my waist, I can't really complain! My old waist trainer isn't entirely useless though, as I will continue to wear it when working out and use the new one for daily wear so as not to have to wash the new one as often.I cannot speak to how this would work if you do not watch your diet and exercise, since I have done both. That being said I am not on a strict diet and have not entirely cut out processed sugars and junk food from my diet. I have simply reduced the calories I get from snacking on junk food and opted for smaller portion sizes. I gain weight easily in my midsection and have the most trouble losing it from this region. I have not lost any weight since starting to wear the trainer, yet lost inches from my waist. For me exercise consists of jogging 3 miles 3-4 days a week on the treadmill and I walk as much as I can. Without the exercise I don't imagine I have experienced such quick process so I highly recommend choosing a form of exercise (preferably a form of cardio if you have to lose excess fat) and get into it. After a few weeks of it, your body will start to crave that activity and your endurance will build.Regarding fit, if you're wearing this under clothing in the daytime, it really does smooth out all bulges and give you an hourglass shape. When you first start wearing a waist trainer it feels very uncomfortable to wear, but if you wear it often enough after a few weeks you barely notice it and it starts to feel good because it does provide great back support and improves your posture by preventing slouching. The only downside to waist training in general is that you feel extremely hot if you wear it during the summer like I currently do. I wouldn't recommend wearing it out if the weather is hotter than 80 degrees outside.

The sizing is tricky but WOW
I originally ordered a large after reading reviews and product specks. (Note I pick L first because of the measurements listed are for the PRODUCT not your size & though 2ins smaller then my waist would be very tight) I ended up returning it right after I tired it on it was VERY loose on top and I could fasten the second row. The point is to start at the furthest out and work inward. The medium came today and I right away thought"oh man now it is going to be too small no way I can fasten that."Cartoon lady instruction on the bag swayed me to try anyway stating clearly that it should be hard to fasten at first...because that's the point it needs to be tight to work. Took me about 6min to fasten the first bottom hook but all the rest were nothing after that. I LOVE IT. I love the security, fabric , shape it gives fantastic. It's totally worth your money.

Does it’s job
In the short time I’ve been doing this I’ve learned a few very important lessons for results.1. Wear the correct size! It took me about 30 minutes of googling and a couple of ‘how to’ YouTube videos to learn what size I need to wear. I started with an xlarge (another brand) but learned it was way too big. I sized down to a large and less than a week later I sized down to a medium.2. Be consistent! I wear the cincher 10 hours a day everyday. I take it off for my lunchtime workouts and put it right back on when I’m done. This is probably why I’m able to cinch down every 4 or 5 days.3. Nutrition matters! You can’t just put this on and eat bad food and sit on the couch expecting results. This aids in weight loss and helps you see results sooner. So eat healthy and exercise!4. Stay hydrated! I drink between 60 and 75 ounces of water a day, and I feel I should probably drink more.I started with a 34” waist and now I’m 33.5”. I’m taking pictures around 6pm, when I’m most bloated.I plan to do this for 3 months and update every 2 weeks!

Excellent Product!
This is an excellent product that surpassed my expectations. The quality is like medical grade. I purchased a medium. When I first received the product, I could only fit the very last row of hooks. Today, 3 or 4 days later, I am on the first row of hooks. It requires effort to do up the hooks (15 of them) so give yourself time, if you are planning on wearing it to an evening. My waist has already cinched by 1.5".Great quality and design. I will buy again.
