This rear sight uses a Heinie proprietary dovetail cut and replaces the rear sight on 1911 Mil-Spec pistols. The SlantPro style rear sight is designed with concealed carry (EDC) as it's primary focus. The sight is contoured and completely snag free. The rear face is serrated and slightly slanted forward to help eliminate glare from any light source. Machining of the slide is required for installation. Heinie recommends using a competent pistolsmith for installation. HSP offers installation, turn around time is currently running about 10-12 weeks. Blued finish, rust preventative is recommended.
