Merino wool blends are natural fibers that are amongst the best breathing materials known to mankind. Merino wools can vary in quality and De Marchi only uses the finest qualities and highest grade blends for their products. Merino will keep you cool when it's hot and warm when it's chilly so it's a perfect fabric for three-season jerseys, and it has natural stretch that accommodates your movements without restriction. Wool was the go-to jersey fabric for years, until it was gradually pushed out by cheaper and easier synthetics. Although they're affordable and comfortable, synthetic fibers can never match wool's inherent antimicrobial, moisture-managing and temperature-regulating properties, which is one reason De Marchi made the Holland Jersey from a blend of fine-gauge merino wool and acrylic fibers. Thoughtful touches set the Holland Jersey apart from the retro pack. The three back pockets close with mother of pearl buttons, and the flag-inspired pattern at the sleeves, neck, and torso let everyone know that your cycling affections lie with the land of windmills and Gouda. This jersey is SHARP LOOKING! While on group rides, I have gotten multiple positive comments from total strangers.Have worn it in hot Chicago weather and the material is great. It does not get that "wet and clammy feel" like technical fabrics.I know that this is supposed to be Holland 1972, but around where I live Red, White & Blue normally is associated with another country and that is fine with me.However, the one downside I have found is a significant one. The sewn-in De Marchi logo is right over your left nipple. I wore this for a century and the thing rubbed me raw (even with body glide on my chest). I ended up taking a seam ripper and pulling out the black stitching, which buggered up the jersey pretty bad. I love this jersey but I would not buy it again.

Deceptively marketed 50% Acrylic - 50% Merino Wool
Even with careful washing these shrunk horribly - embarrassed that purchased such a poorly constructed item - Item is 50% Acrylic and Merino Wool and is deceptively marketed - Avoid this product at all costs - Made in Italy apparently no longer means quality
