After purchasing and receiving this ladder, I found that it was too cumbersome to maneuver for me or my spouse. It weighs approximately 40 pounds but for someone 70 plus years, we just couldn't get it set up. Another problem I ran into was that since this was purchased on Amazon but from a third party seller, I was responsible for the return postage which put me $25 in the hole since I returned the ladder. The seller did work with me to assist in returning the item. In the future, I will pay more attention and make sure products I buy are sold and shipped by Amazon so I don't run into this problem again. Although I had these problems, I do recommend this seller.

This is so much more convenient than normal ladders. You can use it as an A-frame step-ladder or as a fully-adjustable extension ladder, and it folds away into a very small space so you can store it almost anywhere. Heavy enough to feel solid & safe, but light enough to carry around easily. If you are a larger person (this ladder's listed limit is 330lbs) or need to use it while carrying a lot of tools, you may want to look into a more conventional ladder.Sturdiness: In my opinion, it's perfectly acceptable. It's not as beefy as a normal extension ladder, but nobody should be expecting that from this type of ladder. If it was, then it would be just as heavy and inconvenient as an extension ladder, which would defeat the purpose. I feel totally safe on this ladder, even when it's fully extended. Like any ladder, you won't have any problems as long as you use it correctly. The stabilizer bar at the bottom of the ladder does a great job of keeping it securely planted on the ground without wobbling. I wish more ladders had this.The locking mechanisms are also perfectly fine - IF you use them correctly. After seeing some of the other reviews, I think this is more of a problem with the instructions (see my comment below about that) than a problem with the actual mechanism. If you know how to use them, they work great. However, some of those reviews were also correct about when you are folding and collapsing the ladder; you do have to watch your fingers and make sure you don't have them placed between the steps. This is true of ALL collapsible ladders, not just this one.Things I would like to see:1) A slightly better texture on the steps. It's not slippery or unsafe, but it's also not as grippy as some other ladders I've used.2) It uses a single velcro strap to keep it secured when it is folded up. It works, but barely, and it struggles to keep it in-place while carrying it. I think 2 straps would be better.3) Better instructions. The included instructions are fine for a handy-person who's used to building things, but may not be adequate for the typical DIY-er. I think they could add more detail to the instructions so they're easier to follow & understand.

This multi-purpose ladder is a very ruggeded and versatile product which I'm very happy with... The Ad for this ladder had a very accurate description - read it carefully because it takes a little time to get used to opening and closing this ladder, I wasn't too sure that the locking mechanism was going to hold me (I weigh 240 pounds, am 72 years old, etc.) and stability is essential for my safety. The locking part of this ladder is very good - it clicks in and does not move until you physically take it out of the lock position which proved to be a sturdy lever mechansim. And, this Seller's Price was the best (least expensive) as compared to similar/same ladders by outher sellers that I compared to this one on Amazon and Ebay at the time I purchased it. I highly recommend this product due to the above and my experiences after using it several times.

When reading the description of this, it gives the impression that you can choose the height of your A-Frame.“ 3.Please extend the ladder to the height that you want first, then turn it into A-Frame (Make sure the hinge&release rod be locked);”If the “height that you want” is fully extended at all times, then this will be perfect for you. I was under the impression I’d be able to use the ladder at any height I wanted (like the picture) but once stepping on it, it began to extend and almost fell over. There is no locking mechanism to prevent extension, only prevents it from collapsing. I’ll be purchasing some cinching straps to prevent extension on both sides when I want to use it as a smaller a-frame and for storage as I’m sure this Velcro will deteriorate.Still the best option for me at this point since there is a fee to send it back but I’d look at other similar ladders before buying this one to see if they are lighter in weight and have a locking mechanism to prevent unwanted extension of the rungs. 3 stars seems pretty accurate for this but pretty frustrated with the misleading verbiage on the extension process.
