Well executed, organized and reasonably versatile
Heavy duty fabric. Stiff and crinkly loud when new but it will break in and soften up.Organization. The main compartment is broken into a primary bulk section and a secondary thin section for papers or a thin laptop. The divider between the two sections is lined as for tablet storage with a zipper access. The paper storage side of the divider has three open top pockets. Filling them will rob space from the paper storage. But for pens, or cables will not bulk up much. Small items may spill out depending how tightly packed your bag is. The back panel is soft lined for a Velcro organiser or other insert of whatever brand you like. The flap has a waterproof zipper access focused on this part of the bag, though all of the interior could be accessed. Magforce/Maxpedition probably intends it for weapon access. This zipper can be locked out of casual access with a snap tab that cinches up against the bulky zipper pull providing some theft protection. The flap has a long webbing handle with a single MOLLE size tab at each end. A Velcro patch panel on the flap and a final Velcro name panel/handle combo between the buckles. The forward panel of the main compartment has a zipper and the three pockets again. This is probably better for small items as they'll be contained in the zipper compartment if they don't stay in their assigned pocket. The flap has an exterior accessed zipper pocket repeating the three pocket organization. Best for frequently accessed items I think. Again, watch the bulk to keep the flap working smoothly. The flap closes with Velcro and adjustable side release buckles. These straps do not have a strap tamer system as the shoulder strap does. The sides of the main pocket have two velcro tabs that automatically engage and release to tuck the sides in when you close the flap. Be interesting to see how things wear over time. The side pockets accept water bottles of many sizes. They also have straps for expansion pouches or just for clipping a pen or small light to.Some good thought went into this bag. It's defaults are versatile and compact . If you pack light, this is a great bag for daily use. Sets up well for office tech carry as well as tactical carry. The strap pad moves easily on the strap. This is good because the pad stays in place as you move the bag through its carry range from front access to back around in the back. The strap included the quick cinch system common to messenger bags and it works well. The strap includes a Velcro wrap to keep extra starp length tucked away. The key clip is low to keep them out of the way. I don't like this key system personally. Maybe better for an ID tag if you're allowed to keep those on your bag instead.Cons:I'd have like at least one of each set of triple pockets have one that sealed closed. You'll likely want to use some bag in bag system for small objects.Using the flap pocket for quick access stops working when the bag is open. So consider your use cases for what you put where. I find I keep the bag closed most of the time and access via the top zipper except for bulky items that need the flap opened.A side access pocket under the flap would have been a nice touch like the competition has.MSRP is astronomical.
