As good as these types of mud guards get
Original Review: They bounce a bit but there's no getting around that with these type of mud guards. They's be absolutely perfect if they were completely rigid but we don't live in a perfect world... Also, I love how the color matches my bike (better than the picture show) and I like that they are retractable - although getting them to re-extend can be a little work. Great buy.Update: I kept accidentally kicking the rear fender with my leg while getting on the bike until the plastic finally snapped and I had to buy another set. Not the product's fault but the irrational part of my brain curses it as such. On the next set I tried to be careful but I snapped the plastic off again after less than a month of using it. I was able to super glue it back together without the repair being conspicuous. Then, just last night, I came out to find someone had thought the fender looked so nice that they stole it right off my bike. I just bought another set of these fenders for the third time. I can't seem to find anything else that match my bike and fit my needs as well as these do. However, I have noticed the price has gone up each time I've bought them so I'm not sure if I'll replace them when I inevitably break the plastic arm again.Tip: Don't over tighten the back fender's mount so that if/when you do kick it, the mount can spin on your seat post instead of snapping the plastic arm at its weak point.

Bad initial review was my mistake!
I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE!!! Fenders extend and elongate from default packaged positions! And the attachments are accommodating for various bikes. Some slight modifications of the front fender metal attachments may be needed. Such as bends here and there! Otherwise Fenders are sturdy plastic and looks well on a Walmart 29er Genesis Incline bike.

I was really hopeful about these but was ultimately disappointed.
These were the only ones with mounting options that would allow both the front fender and rear fender to be mounted on my children's bikes (same model). If I could have mounted these per the pictures shown on the item page then I have zero doubt I would give these 5 stars. Unfortunately I had to use the plan B mounting options they provide. Even though I ended up tossing both sets of these in the bin, I will be fair and give them 4 stars because the fender itself is great and they provided several mounting options. 1 star off for the weak mounting bracket that most of you won't need.If you can mount the fender directly below the handlebar tube using the small L bracket then you will be fine but the front suspension didn't allow that on ours so we had to use the provided long bracket extension that moves the fender back and down so it ends up being closer to the tire. Unfortunately, the lengthy extension brackets are just too flimsy to hold the fender stable. Go over a bump and the fender will bounce- Aside from the loud CLAP you will hear as the nested pieces of plastic slap together when they hit the tire, the tip you use to extend the fender out will get caught on your tire tread and break off making extending it impossible. Note- we bought these in August so they were never ridden with the fender extended.I bent and re-bent the brackets in order to move the fender up and away from the tire but they just sagged under the weight of the fender hanging off the end of it and within a few minutes- CLAP.If you can mount the rear fender off of the seat post then you will likely be fine. But for ours we couldn't because then the seat would be too high. When using the provided option to mount them to the (unused in our case) brake caliper mounting hole, the fender is too close to the tire again and the same as above applies except in this case the bracket does bend, it breaks completely because it is plastic. They may be fine if used by an adult riding a bike with relatively smooth tires NOT riding off of curbs. Put them on a kid's bike and they will likely fail.

It's very bad.
As much as I thought originally "Oh cool you can retract them" But why would you? Now there are on my bike and yes they retract super well! you hit a pot hole and they'll do that as well! Annoying. Bottom line another cheap, weak and flimsy product. I know, I know, you get what you pay for. So in this case don't! Next!Update: not even fully 3 months into this purchase and they are gone, broken. Total crap, period.

Dang
They look really cool once on the bike but it was difficult to attach the rear fender. I had to improvise. The fenders have 2 ways to attach, the rear fender either remove the brake assembly if there is one or attach to seat pole. When I attched it the the seat pole I had to add some more rubber between the pole and attachment to be able to tighten otherwise it was too loose and the fender moved left and right. I barely got to hand tight and the plastic knob to tighten the metal bolt stripped off so I super glued it back and it has to be checked periodically because it slowly loosens. The green one I bought snapped at the black attacent. I personally wouldnt buy this again.

They are nice and love the design. Instillation was easy
I love how they slide out. To awesome. But i will only be using these for light trail and commutes. Just feels a little flimsy for heavy trail use. Kinda stiff to collapse. I recommend playing with them first before install. I also had to bend the metal mounting piece on the fork to give it more travel. I rubbed on step drops . Not a hard install. Pics included on the looks collapsed and ready for wet weather.

I found this kind of difficult to assemble
When I am unpacked it it was clear this was a Chinese product with all Chinese writing on the outside of the box. The instructions however were in English. I still haven't put the back fender on yet as I came across a free luggage rack that I'm using instead. The front fender was hard to put on in part due to the curvyness of the bike parts themselves. However there's a problem with the design of the product. I feel. So the fender has been on the bike maybe 5 weeks and it's on very loose I'm worried it's will fall off so I got an allen wrench to tighten it up. Unfortunately I can't hold the attached not in place to tighten it very much. So it's still working and hanging on but it seems this could be designed much better. It works but I would look at other products first before getting this one... Although I seem to remember the price was very good.

Front and rear guard mounts broke within a month
Design of guards is good but mounts are poor. Also lots of extra screws and nuts that don’t suit mounts supplied. Both front steel guard bracket and rear plastic mount arm broke within 1 month of city / bike path riding . Front guard also started to tear around steel mount before mount snapped. Suggest you look elsewhere for better quality products.

Sturdy Expandable Bycycle Mud Guard
All fittings are supplied however slightly hard to identify..... Ensure you have a little time on your hands when fitting... So far, the product has stood up reasonably well in the rough. Good looker though...
