The pictured gate is NOT what you receive. It measures 42" wide but only because the end bolts/extenders are COMPLETELY extended. Doesn't look the same as pictured, missing a piece on each side as shown. It's easy to install. However, because the ends are fully extended not confident in security feature. Disappointing.

My puppy broke through the wall mounted gate we had, so I thought this might be a better option (figuring if it stretched from wall to wall at 42” plus a 4” attachment, he could only push it against the entryway and not break through again).I guess the extension is included in the dimensions which I don’t think was made clear considering the picture that was used. I needed it to extend to the full 42”; however, if it did that, it wouldn’t be able to stand. It’s not secure now at the 38” it is. One good shove from my 40lbs puppy and it will come apart. He’s only getting bigger!Update: It took two shoves and the gate fell over. He was scared to walk over the gate though so that kept him contained..... until he realized he would walk around it.This should be advertised for regular sized doorways only.

This photo and description is misleading! There are no additional pieces included to extend it to 50". The title says it includes the gate PLUS extensions. There are no extensions. So frustrating!!

I ordered this gate because it had the 10” high doggie door as opposed to all the others that are only 8”x8”. However, upon opening, I discovered it only had an 8”x8” door. My dog needs the extra 2” in height. I assumed it was a factory error, that they put the wrong gate in the box. So, I ordered another one...same problem. The product description needs to be changed!!! The photo of the product clearly shows the taller gate. Was also a major hassle returning 2 gates!!! That’s another whole story! That aside, it seems to be a very strong, sturdy gate.

The gate is very nice. It works as it should and looks attractive. But....the downside of this gate is that horrible foot long warning sticker on the gate. It was extremely difficult to remove and some of the black paint came off while removing this sticker.

We had a problem with the dog teasing the cat and chasing her. She was terrified and would not come out of the bedroom. Placed this gate halfway up the stairs going up to the master bedroom where the cat was hiding. Once she realized that she could come and go but also safely retreat behind the gate. It took 2 days for both the cat and dog to figure out that the cat had a "safe zone" behind the gate. She could come and go freely. The teasing stopped and they started checking each other from their side of the gate. Not friends, but they are getting along ... mostly ignoring each other but the fighting is gone.. =^^=

The bars are about 2-1/2 inches apart so they are narrow enough to keep my puppy put. The design is lovely and looks very classy, plus is very easy to install against walls with baseboards where the distance is different on the top and bottom of the gate. I didn’t use the plastic pieces that you drill into the wall because I like being able to move the gate, if necessary, without damaging the wall. All in all, this is a great gate with lots of style...I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality gate.

I have a corridor that is exactly 36" wide. This gate is too wide to fit between the baseboards (which reduces the width by about 1-1/2") if you use both side panels, however, when I only put one panel, the adjusting screws at the top have to be extended SO FAR that they almost fall out, making the gate wobbly and unstable. If I had a bigger dog that jumped up on it, it would definitely collapse. The cat door is way too big, too. My cat is fat, but she has a ton of extra room to pass through the opening. Unfortunately that means my 20 pound dog can also squeeze through it once she figured out that she could. The gate itself looks really nice, it just needs to be redesigned a bit.

This is a great little gate , my naughty collie keeps getting into the living room when I’m out and barking at the window ! He has defied all attempts to keep him out ,my little cat likes to come and go and her feeding dish is kept in there to stop dog from eating her food . The gate has solved the problem completely although said dog sulked for days when he realised his mischievous ways have been thwarted.i am very pleased with this product.

Our chonky cats can get through the cat just fine so it's good for chunky house cats, but also for babies apparently haha. My son is 9 months old and he's able to get through it so unfortunately it doesn't serve the purpose we got it for. It's not the sturdiest either unless you screw it into your wall (it does come with screws). Also, it doesn't fit in our door frames which is why it's in a hallway instead. It's pretty meh to be honest, the wood panels came cracked but it doesn't affect the frame at all.

Not the best, but it works for what we need. There’s been a few occasions my son had unknowingly opened the gate, which is super scary when it’s installed at the top of stairs to a cement floor basement. The gate looks nice, but it’s definitely cheap. I would spend the extra money and get a better quality one. The pet opening is also on the larger side and my 1.5 year old has been close to getting herself through it.

I've had this gate for a few months now, it was easy to install(I did it, not my husband) and assemble. It works great to keep my little away from the furnace and the kitty litter but also allowed my cats access to a safe space away from the babe. It looks great and works great.My only criticism is that my little guy loves to play with the door. If we are spending alot of time in that room I will close the cat part, Which is a great feature but if I leave it open for the cats to escape he's always slamming the little door. He's gotten his fingers caught once, but he was all good.

This one was tricky for me haha. Nice packaging everything arrive in perfect shape. It took me a moment to understand how to install it maybe I was just not having it that day but once you understand it’s pretty easy to install. A lot of reviews talks about the gap and how it do not close. Well the reason for that is because they haven’t figure out how to properly install it. Mine works like a charm.
