Defensive Football Strategies (American Football Coaches Association)

I'm coaching a new football team here in Norway, and as a Norwegian I'm not the great expert on American football. This book has so far given me a lot of good tips as to how to build my defense, from which players to use and what kind of strategies will work to different types of offense. My team plays in 2. division, so we play 9-9 football, not 11-11 as portrayed in this book, so some strategies won't work, but all in all, I'm quite happy with this purchase. I will recommend it to everyone inspiration to coach football, and coaches looking for new ideas.

This is really a book for developing one's existing defensive skills, not a primer for teaching defense. The strategies presented really require you to have some basic understanding of the principles involved, so if you're looking to learn how defense works from the ground up, this is probably not the book you're looking for.

I never played Football except in the street. I enjoyed learning some of the intricacies of defense strategies.Unfortunately football games on TV focus on closeups of the Quarterback Of Course it's Romo's fault he's the only one playing.

I really like this book because we are changing defenses and It gave me some insight on how successful coaches run certain defenses and drills. The book is very practical and applicable for high school teams.

Many people watch football but this book delves into defensive strategy on a level that's understandable yet detailed.

Great book

Good book for coaches on the defensive side of the ball!

This book is great! Has anything a defensive coach could ever want. I bought this book, because I wanted to get different ideas on what coaches thought about defense. It has helped me learn what defense I want my players running. Very easy to follow with all the diagrams and descriptions of the defenses.

Lo compré como regalo para un familiar fanático aficionado del fútbol américano. Le gustó bastante. Aparentement las estratégias no cubren las más actuales pero resulta bastante bueno para los que están aprendiendo.

Great - as expected

Un' ottimo libro che illustra in maniera accurata tutte le strategie della difesa, pass defense run defense e goal line defense.Unica nota negativa se si vuole cercare e' che il libro è del 2000, un po' datato.

Indispensável para quem quer compreender as nuances de uma defesa e montar um grande sistema defensivo. Recomendo fortemente a todos os coachs.
